Andrew Schulz serves as EarthShare’s Outside General Counsel and is a Principal at Adler & Colvin, a leading law firm focused on nonprofits and philanthropy. He advises EarthShare on legal compliance and a wide range of matters supporting our donor-advised funding, fiscal sponsorship, workplace giving, pooled funds, and related charitable initiatives—bringing deep expertise in nonprofit governance, federal tax and regulatory issues, charitable giving and grantmaking, advocacy and lobbying rules, contracts, intellectual property, and employment law.

Andrew brings decades of experience advising nonprofits, foundations, and philanthropic service organizations. Prior to joining Adler & Colvin, he served as General Counsel for New Venture Fund, guiding the organization and its fiscally sponsored projects on corporate governance, tax, advocacy, and regulatory matters. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President at Foundation Source and spent more than 12 years at the Council on Foundations, where he helped lead legal and public policy work and supported sector-wide ethics and best-practices efforts. A nationally recognized authority on private foundations and philanthropic regulation, Andrew is a frequent national speaker and is admitted to the bar in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
