How EarthShare’s fiscal sponsorship helps Frontline Resilience deliver movement-aware mental health support
The Challenge
Climate advocates, organizers, and frontline communities are working under sustained psychological strain shaped by climate impacts, political pressure, community trauma, and prolonged crisis response.
Despite growing recognition of the mental health impacts of climate work, support that is both climate-aware and community-rooted remains difficult to access for the people most directly engaged in climate and environmental justice efforts.
Frontline Resilience was created to address this gap by offering no-cost, movement-aware mental health services designed specifically for climate activists and organizations. As an emerging initiative, however, it needed the legal, financial, and operational infrastructure to accept funding, manage compliance, and grow sustainably without pulling leadership away from program delivery.
The Solution
Through EarthShare’s fiscal sponsorship, Frontline Resilience gained the nonprofit infrastructure needed to operate and grow as a mission-driven charitable initiative.
EarthShare provides the administrative backbone that allows Frontline Resilience to receive philanthropic support, manage grants and donations, and meet nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements with confidence. With this foundation in place, Frontline Resilience can stay focused on delivering grounded, trauma-informed mental health support to climate organizers and frontline communities.
This partnership helps Frontline Resilience build sustainable community care infrastructure while strengthening the long-term resilience of climate and environmental justice movements.
The Impact
With EarthShare as its fiscal sponsor, Frontline Resilience has been able to establish a strong operational foundation for its work and focus its time and resources where they matter most: supporting the people at the heart of climate and environmental justice movements.
Fiscal sponsorship has helped Frontline Resilience:
- Expand access to support | EarthShare provides the compliant structure needed to receive and steward philanthropic funding in support of no-cost mental health services.
- Strengthen operational capacity | Established financial, administrative, and compliance systems allow Frontline Resilience to grow with confidence and sustain its work over time.
- Keep leadership focused on delivery | By reducing administrative burden, EarthShare enables Frontline Resilience to concentrate on community-centered care, movement wellbeing, and long-term resilience.
Why It Matters
Sustaining climate and environmental justice movements requires more than policy change and technical solutions. It also requires resilient people and healthy organizations.
Frontline Resilience addresses a critical and often overlooked need within the climate sector by providing mental health support that is trauma-informed, community-rooted, and tailored to the realities of climate activism and frontline organizing. By strengthening the emotional wellbeing and long-term sustainability of organizers and communities, this work helps build healthier organizations, more durable leadership, and a stronger movement for climate and environmental justice.
