PESTICIDES & TOXINS IN THE CLASSROOM
|
One of the most important ways to protect our children's health is to prevent their unnecessary exposure to pesticides and other toxins that may be used in their schools.
Children are far more sensitive to low concentrations of toxic chemicals because of their developing organs and high metabolism; young children in particular can encounter pesticides by crawling, exploring or hand-to-mouth activities. Children spend 30 to 50% of their waking hours in school, nine months of the year, making a healthy school environment all the more vital to their growth and development. Please explore the resources below to find out what you should be aware of and to learn how you can help create a safer learning environment for them. Click here to return to the previous page.
