Kalman Stein
Kalman Stein has been President and CEO of EarthShare since its inception in 1989. During that time EarthShare has raised more than $150 million in pledges; the number of national benefiting member charities has risen from 18 to 60; and the EarthShare federation now has 13 state affiliates representing more than 400 local and national member charities in 19 states.
Under Mr. Stein's watch, EarthShare has persuaded dozens of major corporations and government employers to open their payroll contribution campaigns to EarthShare, enabling more than 8 million employees nationwide to easily support environmental and conservation causes. Thanks to a partnership with the Advertising Council that Mr. Stein helped to establish, EarthShare has received more than $650 million in donated media support for its public service advertising campaigns.
Mr. Stein is a founder of the Charities @ Work coalition and currently serves as its chair. He is also the chair of the National Combined Federal Campaign Committee. He holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
