Preliminary estimates from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have indicated that more than 630,000 newborns each year may have increased risk of learning disabilities associated with methyl mercury exposure inside their mothers’ wombs. It's important to understand the effects of mercury contamination on our environment and to be aware of published guidelines for fish consumption and other ways to reduce risk. Learn more about mercury in our environment and what you can do to protect yourself and your family by visiting the resources below. For the latest news about mercury and human health, click here.
