Earth Month Idea #1 - Volunteer!

EarthShare VolunteersEarth Month is a perfect time of year to roll up your sleeves and get to work for a healthy planet! We’ve compiled a list of nationwide events from our member groups for you to share and get involved. Remember to also check with your local community listings for Earth Day events and cleanups near you.

Have a great idea for an event? Why not plan your own! Check out Earth Day Network’s Earth Day 2011 organizer guides and resources. They’ve also got you covered with a national events calendar and an online pledging portal for sharing your actions, A Billion Acts of Green.

And if you live in the greater DC area, we’ve got the perfect idea to kick-start your Earth Day celebration. We’re teaming up with the Anacostia Watershed Society this April 9th to host a cleanup of one of our area’s most vital watersheds along the Anacostia River. Learn how you can get involved! Plus, join EarthShare staff at our post-cleanup Earth Day celebration for food and eco-friendly festivities.

Remember to tell us about your Earth Day events, pledges and celebrations on twitter and facebook! Share your feedback and finds with us onsite April 9th with hashtag #anacostiacleanup.
