DONATE NOW »A big thank you to the hundreds of committed citizens who helped clean up at Kingman Island on Saturday, April 18, 2009! We hope to see you again next year!
If you live in the D.C. Metro area, EarthShare, D.C. Surfrider and The Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) invite you to come out and help clean up the Anacostia River at the 15th Annual Earth Day River Cleanup and Celebration on Saturday, April 18, 2009!
EarthShare is co-sponsoring the clean up at Kingman Island with D.C. Surfrider Foundation. There are more than 25 other sites throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia where you can get your hands dirty and make a difference. Trash cleanups will take place from 8:30AM to 12:00PM at all sites throughout the watershed.
We need you! As a cleanup volunteer, you not only contribute to real, hands-on change in our local environment, you also help us raise awareness about the importance of clean water on the Anacostia River and throughout the larger Chesapeake Bay watershed. To sign up now, you can RSVP below.
All volunteers are invited to Bladensburg Waterfront Park afterwards for an Earth Day Celebration with free food and entertainment beginning at Noon. All volunteers will also receive a free reusable totebag, and the satisfaction that comes with taking care of the community we share!
