Now available: free corporate responsibility green tips!

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) just launched the Innovation Exchange, a first-of-its-kind online resource that allows businesses to quickly identify and share ways to improve their environmental performance and reduce costs. This cool tool offers no-cost recommendations, case studies, publications and other resources for companies seeking to improve their environmental performance.  Much of the content is based on EDF's twenty years of experience creating environmental innovation in partnership with Fortune 500 companies like MacDonalds, Wal-Mart (an EarthShare charitable giving partner) and FedEx. Kudos to EDF for helping to build the next generation of environmental best practices for business. MORE >>

Update on last week’s marine conservation news

The Nature Conservancy’s preserve at remote and stunning Palmyra Atoll in the Central Pacific has been designated by President Bush as part of the new Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. This will increase the amount of protected ocean wilderness surrounding Palmyra from half a million acres to 13 million acres. It’s hard to believe that this glorious landmark was once proposed as a nuclear waste site – it’s among the most diverse marine ecosystems on Earth and is one of the few places still dominated by sharks! It also boasts five times as many coral species as the Florida Keys and is home to threatened species like coconut crabs and green sea turtles.
