China’s message to environmentally destructive companies: No loans for you!

China recently issued green finance policies that mark a new way of addressing environmental degradation, according to a recent report by Friends of the Earth. “China offers some interesting examples of how sustainability can be incorporated into financial regulation," said Michelle Chan, one of the report’s authors. Chan went on to say that the U.S. has a historic opportunity to update its own regulations in ways that will enable Wall Street to finance a sustainable future, paving a potential way forward for the U.S. banking sector that’s struggling with our current economic crisis. >>More

Last week the Vatican turned on their new solar energy system and announced an ambitious plan that could one day make it an alternative energy exporter.
