Overwhelming scientific consensus indicates that global warming is a real and significant threat to our health, our economy, and our environment. Global warming is the rise in global temperatures caused by the buildup of carbon dioxide and other emissions in the atmosphere that trap the sun’s heat.

You don't need to believe in global warming to understand that consuming less fossil fuels is a desireable goal for America and the planet. Energy conservation and development of alternative sustainable energy sources such as wind and solar power represent crucial investments in our future. The good news is that we can take steps as individuals and a society to address these critical issues. The great news: it is estimated that the work required to take these steps will potentially create five million new jobs.

Why should we all care and do what we can now? Visit the links at left and below to learn the facts about global climate change and how it is affecting our health and natural resources. Please support the environmental and conservation organizations that work hard every day to protect and preserve public health and our natural resources.

Thank you for helping to care for the home we all share.
